We are never ours, it is always a mixture and copy of someone, somethings and some opinions and some instances which shape us, to be, what we are today.
It is always, something or someone, we aspire to be, so we associate ourselves to it and try to be them.
We always look upto things, to be them and to align with what it takes to be them.
This concept of looking upto someone and being like someone, fades the individuality of a person.
Individuality loss by copying someone is what one should avoid at all costs. It would lead to an identity crisis.
When you look upto someone, you tend to forget everything, trying to negate what bad qualities they have, and you absorb every aspect of their personality. The absorption of ideas and every aspect, of a person, is a threatening concept. This idea of good and bad is itself ambiguous. You never know what is going to be good and what is going to be bad, until it's done.
What might be bad to you, might be someone's good and this concept, misleads us.
But, the only bad is, something which hinders your self motivation, something which deteriorates your self-esteem and something which makes you feel that you are not enough. You are surely enough, enough to hold everything the universe has to pour and accept what opportunities are coming. If you become, a bad copy of someone, trying to become like someone, and that is the moment when you start lying to yourself. That is the moment, when your individuality and your identity start drifting apart. You start diverging from your shadows and there's nothing left in you, which you can call your own.
Being a bad copy of someone, isn't merely about being bad, and nurturing the negatives of someone and letting them brew into your spirits, but it is at the cost of losing your real self, losing what constitutes you and ruining your presence.
What can be done is, selective absorption, you take up things from people which align with your characteristics and not breach your personality, and not hindering your growth. Afterall, it is just about perception and looking forward to things which grow you and not destroy you
