Why are people scared to make the first move?
Generally, people feel settled in their comfort zone. Either they are too lazy or are feeling shy to do it. The fear of rejection stops them from making the first move; the fear of uncertainty, since the future is highly unpredictable the fear of the outcome or the repercussions makes an individual overthink his decisions.
Adapt the following to outcast your fright of making the first move:
1. Change how you think about things:
It all starts in your mind. You can change how you react to what happens in your life.
2. Time is finite:
Remember that you don’t have forever and use the precious time you have. Stop staying in a job you hate or being with people you don’t care about.
3. Develop an attitude of gratitude:
If you are grateful daily, you’ll notice more and more things you can be grateful for making gratitude your default state of mind.
4. Applied knowledge is Power:
Knowledge alone doesn’t give you power. You need to act on it and use what you learned.
5. Always remember your 'why':
If you lost your way or you are struggling right now, start finding your 'why'. It will guide you through the toughest times.
6. Failure is a false belief:
Failure is just feedback. You did something wrong but now you know better and you can try again.
Don't be scared; people are held back by the fear that keeps them from taking action. Their entire career could be destroyed by this worry.
The information boosts confidence. The level of confidence will then rise naturally to the point where they make the first move of their lives.
