We often get hurt by others. People mistreat us for their benefit, leaving us hurt and we blame ourselves for trusting them. Someone mistreated us and we try to fight back by spewing the same treatment on them; however, if we do so then what's the difference between them and us.
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “If someone slaps you on one side of your face, turn the other one to him." This holds correct as when reciprocating the same behavior, we become as morally corrupt as they are.
We'll become the two sides of the same coin rusting over time.
Treating them like how we treat ourselves is the way to go. We want to be treated with respect and for that to happen, we'll have to treat others with respect. We are the designers of our world, so why not, let’s try to make our world beautiful and filled with respect and not with grudge and mistreatment.
Let's try to be us and not them. Live on our own rules. For us, we are better than them if we are ourselves and do not get influenced by them.
"Treat everyone around you with your ethics, not theirs."
