"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." - Oscar Wilde
We often hear that we should try to fit in with others, but it's important to remember that it's better to be yourself.
Being yourself means accepting and celebrating your own unique qualities and values, it means being comfortable with who you are and showing it to the world because you are unique in your own way and to feel accepted all you have to do is be yourself
Remember no one is you and that’s your superpower.
Sometimes it’s hard to be yourself because throughout our life's journey, we encounter numerous individuals who make our struggles even harder.
They compare us to others, make us doubt our capabilities, and convince us that we can't achieve anything.
Even our own parents sometimes compare us to other children, particularly during exams, and predict our future based on our grades, without considering our true potential.
We may end up getting caught up in the race, even if we never intended to participate.
However, what they don't realise is that there are many successful people who did not excel in their academics, such as Ronaldo, the world's best footballer, Akshay Kumar, a great actor, Jonny Lever, one of India's top comedians, Steve Jobs - Co-founder of Apple Inc., and countless others.
These people succeeded because they accepted themselves for who they are and had faith in themselves and their dreams, despite facing innumerable hardships.
They may have stumbled many times, but they got back up and continued to move forward, disregarding the world's criticism.
Here are some tips to be yourself:
1. Avoid comparing yourself to others: Comparing yourself to others can be toxic and make you feel inadequate.
Remember that everyone has their own path and that you are unique in your own way.
2. Be honest with yourself: Honesty is key when it comes to being yourself.
Take the time to reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and actions, and be honest with yourself about who you are and what you want.
3. Take care of yourself: Looking after yourself both physically and mentally can increase your comfort with who you are.
4. Embrace your unique qualities: Everyone has their own set of qualities that make them special.
Rather than trying to imitate others, accept and celebrate your individuality.
5. Be open to learning and growth: Being yourself doesn't mean you can't learn and grow.
Be open to new experiences and opportunities for personal growth, while still staying true to who you are.
So, when you're true to yourself, you can live a life that's true to your values, beliefs, abilities, passions, and interests.
You'll feel more confident and self-assured because you don’t need the validation from others for your existence, which can help you build stronger relationships and achieve your goals.
So, It is important to recognize that we are unique and special in our own way, and that is something to be proud of.
