Just ignore the naysayers - Rajdeep Sikder

rajdeepsikder25

Have you ever had an idea or thought that you were really excited about, only to be shunned by the naysayers? Believe me when I say this. It is the most common experience that most successful people have gone through in their lives.

Being told that this idea is bogus or that idea would not work or that your dreams will never come true hurts. But that is what naysayers are there for.

They only want to see you fail. It is up to you to push through. It is up to you to ignore the noise.

When I was a kid, I always wanted to play an instrument. Preferably the guitar. In school, when my teacher would ask me about my likings, I would naturally say playing the guitar. Even though I did not know how to play it back then. My classmates would tease me. Call me a loser. I felt like giving up. It felt like it would be a disaster. That too much time had gone by and that I must focus on my studies. Fast forward to my college days, I took up guitar lessons and now I play in cafes along with my friends and earn what little it provides.

You see, I did not let my classmates rule me. If I had given up then I probably would have been a loser.

But that is not me, and you should not be that either.

Steve Jobs, Henry Ford, Walt Disney, and many more have one thing in common about them. Do you know what that is?

They never gave up.

No one believed in Steve Jobs' vision.

Henry Ford was told no one would buy a car.

Walt Disney was fired because apparently, he did not have a good imagination.

What do you think the world would be like if they had listened to their naysayers? They were nobodies and now they are some of the most prominent faces.

Innovation and progress requires change and adaptability. It is also this that the naysayers are afraid of. The idea of change is scary for most people. So they will deliberately try to sabotage you.

Of course, it is not always easy to ignore the bad words that come your way. You become overwhelmed. The bad words start taking control. So surround yourself with people that support you and your ideas. Having them around will motivate you.

Act on your instincts and let the naysayers say whatever they want to. When you are successful, they won't be.
