Have you ever thought of inculcating a new habit?

Anything like waking up early, exercising, doing yoga, eating healthy, or maybe being punctual?

You must have tried it too and realized that you aren’t perfect at it. And the very next day you slither back into your comfort zone because it was not worth trying. Believe me, all this happened just because you were filled with self-doubt; the fear that you may not be possible to do what you aim at.


We’ve been told from a young age that practice makes a person perfect but how often do we remember it?

I agree that it would be amazing if you just thought of something and mastered it. But we’re humans. We need to prepare ourselves for everything that life throws at us and life is a learning curve. This means that we are supposed to learn every step that we take to move ahead in life. That will measure your growth.


If you want to do something, don’t wait for yourself to be perfect at it.

Just practice and with time you will improve. Consistency is the key to perfection. For instance, if you want to wake up at 5:30 AM and you usually wake up at 8:00 AM, and the first day you’re up at 7:00 AM. You can either punish yourself to be one and half hours late than your aim or applaud yourself to be an hour early than what you’re habituated of. Now, you have a choice, either you let your expectations trample your improvement or turn them into motivation to further improve yourself. This will not only evolve your mindset to a more acknowledging one but also let you gain an attitude of self-worth.


So next time you want to do something, and doubts creep through your mind with any uncertainty, remember that you don’t have to be perfect in the first go, for as long as you are consistent and are willing to work on your improvement. You can start right away because you’ve got it in you.
